CHARLOTTE, NC (TheSpread) – The Atlanta Falcons look to continue building their lead in the NFC South division when they take on the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at 1PM ET.
Atlanta is 10-2 on the season and 4-2 on the road. The Falcons have a 1 game lead on New Orleans in the division and they currently have the best record in the NFC. Carolina is 1-11 on the season and 1-5 at home. The Panthers have the worst record in the NFL. Trends show that the home team has covered the spread in the last four meetings while the point total has been under in six of the last seven in this series.

Roddy White has been leading the offense as he has 91 catches on the year for 1,140 yards and seven touchdowns.

Carolina has lost six straight as the Panthers offense is averaging just 12.8 points per game while allowing 25.6 points per contest. The offense really has no leaders as the team is averaging just 261 yards per game. Injuries and incontinent play has left Carolina void of any star performers in 2010.
In terms of injuries, Atlanta tight end Tony Gonzales is dealing with an ankle problem but is listed as probable. For Carolina, cornerback Chris Gamble is doubtful with a hamstring injury.
