Matthew Stafford will make his first NFL start when the Detroit Lions travel to face the Cleveland Browns on Saturday night.

Stafford showed glimpses of why the Lions made him the No. 1 pick in the 2009 NFL Draft last weekend in a 27-26 win over the

Atlanta Falcons.
Stafford was 7-of-14 passing for 114 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Rookie running back Aaron Brown stole the show in the win for

Detroit, rushing for 47 yards and one touchdown while catching two passes for 51 yards and a score. Calvin Johnson did not play last weekend and his status for Saturday is unknown, as he nurses a hand injury.

Cleveland did not open the preseason on a good note, getting shutout 17-0 at the hands of the

Green Bay Packers. In the battle for the starting quarterback position, Brady Quinn got the edge, going 7-for-11 passing for 68 yards and one interception, while Derek Anderson was 0-for-2 with an interception. A starter for Saturday’s game has not been named. Tight end Aaron Walker was the lone bright spot for

Cleveland last weekend, catching three passes for 48 yards.

Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Browns 3-point favorites in this contest. The over/under total has been set at 37.

Detroit is 2-0 against the spread versus

Cleveland over the last three seasons and is also 2-0 straight up against the Browns during that time. The Lions are also 3-0 ATS coming off a home win.

Cleveland is 1-5 ATS in non-conference games and one of the two meetings in the last three seasons has gone over the total.

Game time is set for 7:30PM ET from Cleveland Browns Stadium with a 30 percent chance of rain in the forecast for kickoff.
