Two teams looking to rebound from a disappointing 2008-09 season will face off in their preseason opener Saturday as the Green Bay Packers host the Cleveland Browns from Lambeau Field at 8PM ET.
The Cleveland Browns have a new coaching staff but a similar roster to last season, a year in which many projected the Browns to make the playoffs. Eric Mangini is now the head coach of the Browns and his biggest question will be at quarterback, where Brady Quinn and Derek Anderson will compete for the starting job throughout the preseason. The duo will have less targets to work with this season as Kellen Winslow Jr. was traded to Tampa Bay and receiver Donteβ Stallworth was suspended for 2009-10 season after being charged with a DUI manslaughter during the offseason. Oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com have made the Packers 3-point favorites heading into Saturdayβs game. The over/under total has also been set at 35.
Game time is set for 8PM ET from Lambeau Field with clear skies in the forecast for kickoff. Both teams are expected to play all of their starters in the beginning, but the duration of their play is not likely to be anything past one quarter.
