WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) – Purdue is going big with its newest recruiting class.
Coach Darrell Hazell announced Wednesday that his 25-player class includes three physical running backs, four bulky offensive linemen and upgrades on the defensive line and at linebacker. It’s all part of a plan to add depth and keep up with the Big Ten’s strongest teams.
Purdue also signed two 6-foot-3 receivers, Anthony Mahoungou and Domonique Young, who could play key roles in the offense next year.
And, of course, the school dubbed the ”Cradle of Quarterbacks” added Kentucky’s Elijah Sindelar to the roster, too. The record-setting quarterback from Caldwell County High School enrolled in school last month but is only starting to throw now after recovering from a knee injury.
