STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Penn State interim coach Tom Bradley interviewed to keep the job on a permanent basis but doesn’t know when the school might reach a decision.
Bradley on Monday declined to offer details on his interview last week other than that he was excited to get the opportunity to make his pitch to replace Hall of Famer Joe Paterno.
Bradley took over after school trustees fired Paterno on Nov. 9 in the aftermath of child sex-abuse charges against retired defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky, who has pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
School president Rodney Erickson has said he would prefer to have a coach in place by the time No. 24 Penn State plays the TicketCity Bowl on Jan. 2. Bradley spoke to reporters Monday at the school’s bowl media day.
