ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -New Mexico coach Mike Locksley is back on the job following a 10-day suspension for his role in a physical altercation with an assistant last month.
Locksley said Sunday that it was difficult not being on the sidelines as the Lobos played UNLV on Saturday night. The Rebels beat the Lobos 34-17 to break their school-record 20-game losing streak in conference road contests.
Locksley said he watched the game on television.
The coach reflected on his recent controversy, saying there will be some things he does differently as the leader of New Mexico’s football program.
He also acknowledges that he has his work cut out for him to regain the confidence of the Lobo family, but he maintains that he’s “a man of character and integrity.”
