Cincinnati Bearcats Game Notes

Ben Bryant completed 18 of 35 passes for 200 yards and also carried the ball four times for negative 11 yards in Saturday’s 29-27 win at SMU. For the first time this season, Bryant finished the game without a touchdown pass. The senior quarterback had thrown multiple touchdowns in every game, but could not find the end zone against the Mustangs. He also finished with his worst completion percentage of the year. On the bright side, this was also just the second game Bryant finished without an interception. Some of this performance may be attributed to being without his top pass catcher, Tyler Scott (ankle). Regardless, this game seems likely to be a mere blip for Bryant and not the new normal.

UCF Knights Game Notes

John Rhys Plumee completed 25 of 37 passes for 296 yards and three interceptions, adding 14 carries for 38 yards and a fumble in Saturday’s 34-13 loss at ECU. Plumlee’s four turnovers Saturday is by far the most he has had this season. Plumlee also failed to score a touchdown for the first time this season. While he still managed to pass for nearly 300 yards, his turnovers were the story of the game. Outside of this loss, Plumlee has been very productive both through the air and on the ground. Next Saturday’s game versus Cincinnati will be another tough task, but it’s unlikely he will have a worse performance than this one.

Cincinnati vs. UCF Betting Prediction

I’m not in love with either side today, but I do see plenty of value in the total. The under is 5-1 in the Knights’ last six games overall, is 4-0 in their last four games after allowing more than 450 total yards in their previous game and is 7-3 in their last 10 home games. On the other side, the under is 4-1-1 in the Bearcats’ last six road games, is 44-18-1 in their last 63 games played in the month of October and is 9-4 in their last 13 games following a win.
