Alabama has not had a terribly strong offense this year, but its defense is among the best in the nation. The Tide are second in the nation in total defense, allowing just 228.7 yards per-game and are fourth in the country in scoring defense, allowing 11.6 points per-game. The unit also has 21 sacks and 10 interceptions as a team, which ranks among the best in the country. On offense, Mark Ingram has rushed for 905 yards, which ranks third in the nation, and has eight touchdowns. Quarterback Greg McElroy has thrown for 1,325 yards and nine touchdowns.

Tennessee is 3-3 on the year and 3-3 against the spread with all three wins coming at home. The Volunteers have a strong defense in their own right, allowing just 19.5 points and 273 yards per-game.

Tennessee’s rushing defense ranks third in the SEC in rushing defense, allowing just 661 yards on the year. Offensively,

Tennessee has been led by Montario Hardesty, who has rushed for 672 yards and six touchdowns in six games.
