NASHVILLE, TN (TheSpread) – It has been a up and down year for both Tennessee and North Carolina, but the two will look to end on a positive when they meet in the 2010 Music City Bowl.

North Carolina is 7-5 on the season and 6-5 against the point spread odds while Tennessee is 6-6 on the year and 6-5 against the spread. Trends show that North Carolina is 1-5 against the point spread odds in their last 6 games on grass while Tennessee is 4-0 ATS in their last four games on grass.

North Carolina dropped its first two games thanks to a number of suspensions that left the team depleted. The Tar Heels then had a nice run, winning six of seven before losing two of their last three to end the regular season. The Tar Heels average 24.9 points per game on offense and allow 22.9 points per game on defense. Their strength is in their passing attack, which racks up 266.5 yards per game. T.J. Yates has thrown for 3,184 yards and 18 touchdowns with eight interceptions to lead UNC.

Tennessee was 2-6 at one point this season before it rallied to win its last four games and qualify for a bowl game. The Volunteers are averaging 27 points per game on offense while allowing 24.7 points per game on defense. Tennessee has struggled to run the ball consistently, but it does average just under 250 passing yards per game. Tyler Bray has thrown for 1,537 yards and 14 touchdowns with 7 interceptions in eight games of work.

In terms of injuries, UNC linebacker Bruce Carter is questionable with a knee injury while Tennessee center Cody Pope is questionable with a neck injury.
