TEMPE, AZ (TheSpread) – No. 14 Missouri looks to get its 11th win of the season when it takes on Iowa in the 2010 Insight Bowl.

Missouri is 10-2 on the season and 7-5 against the point spread odds while Iowa is 7-5 overall and 5-5-1 against the point spread odds. The two teams have combined to go under the point total in 16 of 22 lined games this season. Trends show that Missouri is 0-4 against the spread in their last 4 games in December while Iowa is 5-1 ATS in their last six bowl games.

Opening odds had Missouri favored by 1 points, but the spread climbed up to 3 points before falling back to 2.5. The over/under total opened at 46.5 points and then jumped to 47 before falling back to 46.

Missouri won its last two games of the season to get to 10-2 on the year. A pair of close losses to Texas Tech and Nebraska is all that kept the Tigers from a perfect season. Missouri is averaging 30.3 points per game on offense while allowing just 15.2 points per game. Blaine Gabbert has thrown for 2,752 yards and 15 touchdowns to lead the team.

Iowa lost their last three games of the season to fall back to 7-5 on the year. The Hawkeyes have dealt with some injuries this year, including quarterback Ricky Stanzi, who has thrown for 2,804 yards and 25 touchdowns with just four interceptions. The Hawkeyes will be hurting at running back for the bowl game as leading rusher Adam Robinson has been suspended for the team while backups Brad Rogers and Brandon Wegher are not expected to play either. On the season, Iowa is posting 29.1 points per game but allowing just 16.4 points per contest.

In terms of injuries, Iowa linebacker Jeff Tarpinian is questionable with a neck injury while Missouri defensive lineman Brad Madison is probable with a finger injury.

Over 22,500 public bets have been placed on this game with Missouri getting 66% of the wagers with odds of -2.5 against Iowa.
