BOISE, ID (TheSpread) – The Northern Illinois Huskies take the field for the Humanitarian Bowl without coach Jerry Kill when they face Fresno State on Saturday at 5:30PM ET.

The Huskies have since lost their head coach, Jerry Kill, to Minnesota and are dealing with an interim staff for the bowl game. Leading the team has been MAC Player of the Year, Chad Spann, who has rushed for 1,256 yards and 20 touchdowns on the season. The defense is holding opponents to 332.6 yards per game.
Fresno State has won its last two games and five of its last seven. The Bulldogs are averaging 371.3 yards per game on offense and giving up 355.9 yards per game on defense. The team has been led this season by quarterback Ryan Colburn as he has thrown for 2,529 yards and 21 touchdowns with just 9 interceptions.
In terms of injuries, Fresno State defensive back Jermaine Thomas is doubtful with a knee injury while NIU offensive lineman Matt Krempel is questionable with an undisclosed injury.
