Heisman Trophy Prop Odds

NEW YORK, NY (TheSpread) – The 2010 Heisman Trophy will be handed out Saturday night and oddsmakers are settled that Auburn’s Cam Newton will win, but where will the other finalists finish?

Newton is expected to win the trophy by perhaps the largest margin in the history of the award, so much so that online sportsbooks are not releasing odds for Newton to win. Instead, most sportsbooks are focusing on prop wagers.

The other three finalists for the award are LaMichael James of Oregon, Andrew Luck of Stanford, and Kellen Moore of Boise State. Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com expect the finish to be Newton, Luck, James, and Moore.

Newton has thrown for 2,589 yards and 28 touchdowns while rushing for 1,409 yards and 20 touchdowns. He has led Auburn to an appearance in the BCS title game and should be the runaway winner.

Luck has thrown for 3,051 yards and 28 touchdowns this year for the Cardinal, which finished 11-1 overall and second in the Pac-10. Luck also has rushed for 438 yards and three scores.

James has rushed for 1,682 yards and 21 touchdowns this season while catching 13 passes for 169 yards and a score. James has been the best for unbeaten Oregon and led the Ducks to the BCS National Championship game. James has however not been as dominant for his team as Newton for Auburn.

Moore has thrown for 3,506 yards and 33 touchdowns with just five interceptions on the year. Boise State went 11-1 this season though and Moore’s only chance to win the award would have been to go undefeated as he plays against lesser competition throughout the season.
