Colorado vs. Nebraska Odds

A week of media speculation and turmoil has cast a shadow on No. 16 Nebraska, but the Cornhuskers look to release that frustration on Friday when they host Colorado.

Nebraska is 9-2 on the season after losing last week. The Cornhuskers are 5-2 in the Big 12. Colorado is 5-6 on the season and 2-5 in conference play.

Trends show that Colorado is 11-3 against the spread in their last 14 games with Nebraska and 6-1 ATS in their last seven at Nebraska. The over has hit in the last four games of the series.

Oddsmakers from online sportsbook Sportsbook.com have made Nebraska a 16.5-point favorite at home on Friday while the over/under total has been set at 49.5. (View Matchup)

Opening odds had Nebraska favored by 17.5 points and the odds have steadily dropped down to 16.5 points. The over/under total opened at 50 and climbed up to 51 before falling back to 49.5.

Nebraska is coming off a 9-6 loss to Texas A&M last week. Head coach Bo Pelini had a number of heated exchanges with players in the loss, including quarterback Taylor Martinez who reportedly quit the team afterward, but that turned out to not be the case. Martinez is expected to play on Friday and he has rushed for 974 yards and 12 touchdowns while passing for 1,435 yards and nine scores. The defense has been solid all year, allowing just 294.5 yards per game, including just 143.1 passing yards per game.

Colorado has won two straight since firing head coach Dan Hawkins a few weeks ago. The Buffaloes have scored 78 points in the last two games The two-game winning streak snapped a five-game skid and has given Colorado a shot to become bowl eligible. On the season, Colorado is averaging 368.5 yards per game on offense while allowing just under 400 yards per game on defense. Colorado has been led offensively by Rodney Stewart, who has rushed for 1,230 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Quarterback Taylor Martinez is listed as questionable for the game with an ankle Injury but expected to play while Colorado quarterback Tyler Hansen is out with a rib injury.
