ST. PETERSBURG, FL (TheSpread) – Louisville is making its first bowl appearance since 2006 on Tuesday night at 8PM ET when they take on Southern Miss in the Beef ‘O’ Brady’s Bowl.

Louisville won its final game of the season, 40-13, over Rutgers to get a bowl bid under first-year coach Charlie Strong. The Cardinals are averaging 26 points and 375.8 yards per game on offense while allowing just 18.7 points and 304.7 yards per game on defense. Leading the team is running back Bilal Powell, who has run for 1,259 yards and 10 touchdowns this season while also catching three touchdown passes.

Southern Miss lost their season finale to Tulsa, but won three straight prior to that to finish the season with some momentum. They Golden Eagles are a high-scoring team as they average 37.6 points and 458.2 yards per game on offense through a balanced attack. Leading the team is Austin Davis, who has thrown for 2,898 yards and 18 touchdowns. On defense, the Eagles allow 29.4 points and 362.2 yards per game.

In terms of injuries, Louisville tight end Nate Nord is questionable with a lower body injury while Southern Miss receiver DeAndre Brown is questionable with a leg injury.
