Iowa
is currently ranked 22nd in the nation, but it must replace Shonn Greene at running back this season. Greene rushed for 1,850 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2008 and his expected replacement, Jewel Hampton, injured his knee during practice and will miss the 2009 season. Left to pick up the pieces is quarterback Ricky Stanzi, who threw for 1,956 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2008. Stanzi enters his junior year with his leading receiver back in Derrell Johnson-Koulianos. The Hawkeyes were fifth in the nation in points allowed last season, giving up just 13 points per-game, and

Iowa
brings back eight starters from that unit. The linebacking pair of Pat Angerer and A.J. Edds will led the

Iowa
defense after combining for more than 160 tackles last season. Kirk Ferentz has regained some of his cache as he enters his 11th season with

Iowa
after three-straight season with seven or fewer wins prior to 2008.

Northern Iowa is ranked fourth in the Football Championship Subdivision and is the two-time defending Missouri Valley Conference champions. The Panthers return quarterback Pat Grace, who threw for over 2,000 yards last season to go with 14 touchdowns.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL have not released a point-spread for Saturday’s game.
