After nearly 10 years from being on top, Duke once again claimed the NCAA Championship with its 61-59 win over Butler in the 2010 NCAA Championship Game.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Duke opened the tournament with 8/1 odds to win, meaning at $100 bet on Duke will pay out an additional $800.

Duke entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed in the South region. The Blue Devils reached the title game by defeating No. 16 Arkansas-Pine Bluff 73-44 to open the tournament then defeating No. 8 California 78-53. Duke beat No. 4 Purdue 70-57 to reach the regional final where it defeated No. 3 Baylor 78-71. In the national semifinal Duke topped West Virginia 78-57.

In the national championship game, Duke was able to keep Butler from shooting the ball well, as the Bulldogs were just 20-of-61 from the field. Kyle Singler had 19 points, nine rebounds, and three blocks to lead Duke to the win while Jon Scheyer had 15 points with six rebounds and five assists. Nolan Smith added 13 points while Brian Zoubek had eight points and 10 rebounds.
