Kyrie Irving went off for 42 points (13-of-24 FG, 8-of-8 FT), three rebounds, six assists, eight triples, two steals, one block and four turnovers across 40 minutes in Tuesday’s 118-105 win over Houston. Irving had been going through an awful shooting slump coming into tonight’s game, converting just 36.2% of his shot attempts over a five-game stretch, but he was able to bust out of his funk tonight with a matchup against one of the worst defensive teams in the league. He helped Brooklyn snap a two-game skid, and they improved their home record to 2-2 since Irving was cleared for games at Barclay’s Center.
New York Knicks DFS Notes
Obi Toppin scored 20 points on 7-of-16 shooting during Sunday’s blowout road win, hitting 4-of-10 triples with even boards, one assist and one block. New York is officially out of contention for the play-in tournament and they’ve essentially shut down Julius Randle, which opens the floodgates for Toppin. He was only constrained by the score tonight, as New York opened up a 30-point lead and rested their starters down the stretch. The Knicks have a modest three-game slate next week, but Toppin should be fun to roster with unimpeded minutes and touches coming his way.
