Magic vs. Nets Pick
Are the Orlando Magic going to cover the spread as underdogs tonight when they take on the host Brooklyn Nets? Game time is 7:30PM ET.
Who Oddsmakers Like: According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Nets are a 2-point favorite on the spread line. The total is set at 219 points. The spread has not budged from the 2-point margin where it opened, while the total has increased slightly after opening at 218.
Who the Public Likes: Brooklyn. As of Monday afternoon, 52 percent of public bets have come in on the Nets.
Injury Report: Orlando center Nikola Vucevic is out indefinitely with a broken hand. Jonathan Isaac is out indefinitely as he recovers from an ankle injury. Terrence Ross has a sprained MCL and fractured tibia, leaving him also out for an indefinite period of time. For Brooklyn, D’Angelo Russell is recovering from arthroscopic knee surgery and is out until mid-January. Jahlil Okafor is still working on game conditioning and it is doubtful he sees the floor tonight. Jeremy Lin is out for the season after rupturing his patellar tendon.
Who the Trends Like: Orlando is 1-3-1 ATS in the last five meetings. The under is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings in Brooklyn. The over is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings overall.
Who We Like: Orlando isn’t completely healthy with Vucevic’s absence being massive and Isaac losing out on development time as a rookie, but it is a team in a much better state than even a week or two ago. Aaron Gordon is back and playing very well, while Evan Fournier is also not listed on the injury report any more after missing a considerable amount of time. Look for Orlando to take advantage of a Nets team that has only won two of their last 10 games.
