Utah Jazz DFS Notes
Donovan Mitchell was the only player on his team to show up in a brutal 125-97 loss to the Celtics on Wednesday, scoring a game-high 37 points on 13-of-24 shooting to go with six rebounds, one assist, two steals, three 3-pointers and two turnovers. The Celtics are cookin’ right now, but this was a pretty pathetic effort by this Jazz team that has now lost two in a row. The next highest scorer on Utah’s side was Rudy Gobert, who posted a block-less 14-point, 11-rebound double-double, and if you’re keeping track at home, Gobert only managed 37.8% of the points that Spida did. This is Mitchell’s fourth straight game with at least 30 points and he converted on over half of his shots in three of those, so he’s officially hot and it couldn’t have come at a better time for fantasy managers. He’s going to need a lot more help than he got tonight if the Jazz want a chance at beating the Hornets on Friday.
Charlotte Hornets DFS Notes
LaMelo Ball was feeling it in a 121-106 loss to the Knicks on Wednesday, accounting for 32 points (13-of-23 FGs), nine rebounds, five assists, one steal, six 3-pointers and four turnovers in 39 minutes. LaMelo had 19 points by halftime and no one on his team was even able to score that many in the entire game. Ball scored just 17 points in each of his last two games but was efficient in both, and his recent uptick in his shooting percentage has been massive for his value. After a rough February in which he converted on just 40.4% of his shots in those 12 games, Ball has shot at least 46% from the floor in six of his last seven games and has plenty of other fun stats surrounding it. Don’t expect to be able to draft Ball beyond the second round next season, and he could easily fly off draft boards near the end of the first too. Terry Rozier, the other member that makes up Charlotte’s backcourt, did his thing with 18 points, three boards, three dimes and three triples, but that’s even subpar for Scary Terry given how incredible he’s been.
