2013 Aaron’s 499 Predictions
TALLADEGA, AL (ATS Consultants) – TheNASCARSprint Cup moves to Talladega Superspeedwayfor the Aaron’s 499 today at 1:00PM ET.
This is the 10 race on the 2013 Sprint Cup schedule. Talladega has 33 degrees of banking in all of its turns as well as 16.5 degrees of banking on the frontstretch. The length of the frontstretch is 4,300 feet, and the backstretch measures 4,000 feet. Dale Earnhardt Sr. holds the record for most victories at Talladega with 10. Jeff Gordon leads all active drivers with fives wins there. Dale Earnhardt Jr. has five wins, including four in a row from October 2001 to April 2003.
Boyer has been terrific in his last five races at Talladega. He has seven career top 10s at Talladega with two wins in 14 starts. Since 2010, he’s the only driver in the series who has a single digit average finish (6.7).
He has two wins, three top 5s and six top 10s in his last eight Talladega races. He is the defending champion of the spring Talladega race. He used his front bumper to win the 2008 spring race at Talladega.
Long Shot
Burton has struggled with 11 top 10 finishes in the previous two seasons. Three of those were at Talladega. He has also cracked the top 12 in seven of the last 10 trips to Alabama.
