Updated Daytona 500 Odds
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (TheSpread) – The field and starting order for the 2012 Daytona 500 is set. Here is a look at the latest odds to win this year’s race.
After Thursday’s Gatorade Duels that saw Tony Stewart and Matt Kenseth earn victories to claim the third and fourth starting spots, the updated odds now have Smoke as the favorite to win this year’s Great American Race.
According to oddsmakers, Stewart has 7/1 odds to win the Daytona 500 while other short odds to win are Kasey Kahne and Kyle Busch, who each have 9/1 odds to prevail
Busch and Kahne both competed in the second Duel of the day with Busch placing seventh and Kahne finishing 10th. Busch will now start 14th on Sunday while Kahne will start out of the 20th position. Busch actually has the top driver rating in the series at Daytona, as it is 98.7
Stewart will start third and he has three wins at this track in his career. His driver rating at Daytona is 98.2, which ranks second amongst current drivers.
The Daytona 500 will take place Sunday, February 26 from Daytona International Speedway at 1:30PM ET. For complete odds and track information on this year’s event, see below.
