Kyle Busch gets the pole
SPARTA, KY (TheSpread) – Qualifying for the 2011 Quaker State 400 was rained out on Friday, so Kyle Busch was awarded the pole due to his practice times.
According to oddsmakers at online sports book Bodog, Busch is now the favorite to win the race with 7/2 odds. Other short odds to win are Carl Edwards (5/1) and Kurt Busch (7/1).
Kyle Busch third in the point standings. He has two wins and nine top 5’s on the year. Busch has placed in the top 5 in three of his last four races. Busch won the Nationwide race at this track in 2004.
Edwards is second in the point standings, five points out of first. He has one win and nine top 5’s on the year. He has finished 37th in two of his last four races. Edwards does own the Nationwide Series track record at this track. He won the Nationwide race at this track in 2005. Edwards will start seventh on Saturday night.
Kurt Busch is currently fourth in the point standings. He has one win and four top 5’s on the year. Busch has finished in the top 11 in five of his last six races, including one victory in that stretch. Kurt Busch will start third in Saturday’s race.
