BOSTON (AP) – Red Sox center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury is back in the starting lineup batting leadoff after missing Boston’s previous five games with a tight left groin.
Ellsbury was injured last Thursday when he set a club record with five stolen bases in a victory over the Philadelphia Phillies.
The 29-year old Ellsbury singled in his first at-bat Thursday night against the Rangers. He entered the game hitting .268 with one homer and 20 RBIs.
