BALTIMORE (AP) -Buck Showalter is back as a major league manager for the first time in more than four years. Not surprisingly, he is promising not to be shy about making changes to the Baltimore Orioles.
Before his Orioles debut on Tuesday night against the Los Angeles Angels, Showalter says: “Believe me, if there’s some adjustments to be made, I won’t be overly cautious.”
He is Baltimore’s third manager of 2010, and the Orioles are a majors-worst 32-73 heading into Tuesday’s game. Showalter says he has a to-do list drawn up. He held pregame meetings with his coaching staff and players.
He has managed the Yankees, Diamondbacks and Rangers, but hasn’t been in a big league dugout since the end of the 2006 season.
