Dodgers put up 17 runs
Los Angeles rolled to a 17-1 victory Monday night over Pittsburgh with outfielder Matt Kemp going 5-for-5 to help lead the way. Kemp had a home run, a double, scored four runs and drove in four. Cody Bellinger, Joc Pederson and Max Muncy also hit a home run in the rout. Alex Wood threw the first six innings to get the win, giving up one earned run on six hits with three strikeouts and no walks.
Diaz homers for lone run
Pirates catcher Elias Diaz hit a solo homer to account for the one run scored by hiss quad in Monday’s shellacking. Corey Dickerson was 3-for-3 to help contribute, while Jordy Mercer was 2-for-3. Nick Kingham allowed seven runs (five earned) in three innings to take the loss.
Ivan Nova (4-5, 4.02 ERA) gets the start today for the Pirates, while the Dodgers counter with Clayton Kershaw (1-4, 2.84).
