Welcome to Opening Day, 2010! With the 2010 MLB Season ready to kick off, let’s take a look at the odds and pitching matchups for Opening Day around the league.

Bet 2010 MLB Odds

Opening Day gets kicked off in Washington, D.C. this year when the defending National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies will take on the Nationals at 12:05PM ET. Trade acquisition Roy Halladay will toe the rubber for the Phillies, while John Lannan will take the ball for the Nationals. Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made the Phillies a –210 moneyline favorite over the Nationals, who are +175.

An intriguing NL East matchup starts at 12:10PM ET in the Big Apple, when Johan Santana and the New York Mets will take on Joe Johnson and the Florida Marlins. The Mets are –120 on the moneyline, while the Marlins are EVEN.

One team expected to make a lot of noise this year is the Colorado Rockies, who will opening the season on the road against the Milwaukee Brewers at 1:10PM ET. The Rockies will throw youngster Ubaldo Jimenez against fellow rising star Yovani Gallardo. Oddsmakers have made the Brewers a –127 moneyline favorite against the Rockies, who are being offered at +107 (a serious value given how good Colorado should be this year).

In the American League, Justin Verlander and the Detroit Tigers are –105 on the moneyline against Zack Greinke and the Kansas City Royals, who are –115. Scott Baker and the Minnesota Twins are +115 against Jered Weaver and the Los Angeles Angels, who are –135.

ESPN2 will show two-time Cy Young winner Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants, who are –130 moneyline favorites over Roy Oswalt and the Houston Astros, who are +110. First pitch in that game will go off at 6:05PM ET.
