Giants vs. Mets Prediction

Will the Mets hand the Giants their fifth consecutive loss when the two teams meet again tonight at 7:10PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Mets are -109 money line favorites over the Giants, who have odds of -101 to win tonight in the Bronx. With Jeff Samardzija set to face Zack Wheeler in the pitching matchup, the over/under currently sits at 7 runs, down from the original number of 8.

Bet Tonight’s Giants vs. Mets Game

GIANTS KEY TRENDS: The Giants have lost four straight and are just 5-16 in their last 21 road games after losing 4-3 to the Mets on a walk-off last night. The Giants have also lost six of Samardzija’s last eight starts and are just 2-5 in his last seven outings when he’s coming off a quality start in his last appearance.

METS KEY TRENDS: The Mets are 4-1 in their last five games overall but are just 3-7 in their last 10 home games. They’re also 0-5 in Wheeler’s last five home starts, are 0-5 in his last five outings when he faces the national League West, and are 1-7 in their last eight home games versus an opponent with a road winning percentage of less than .400.

OUR PREDICTION: Keep fading the Giants. They’re a banged-up team with no life that already looks like a team ready for the offseason. (It’s only May, right?) Thanks to the Matt Harvey situation, the Mets are in some turmoil themselves, but I trust their on-field product more than I do the Giants right now. Plus, with Samardzija coming off a quality start in his last outing, he’s due for another dud.
