Indians Season Odds
The Cleveland Indians are in rebuilding mode, but can they be a potential sleeper in the American League? Let’s take a look at their odds.
The Tribe signed first baseman Russell Branyan and catcher Mike Redmond to free agent deals, while also agreeing with Austin Kearns, Jamey Wright and Jason Grilli to minor league deals. Mitch Talbot and Brian Bixler were acquired in offseason trades.
Cleveland traded away Cliff Lee and Victor Martinez last season and the deals might keep coming this year, too. Travis Hafner, Kerry Wood, Jhonny Peralta and Jake Westbrook might be the next to go, which makes it tough to buy into the Tribe this season – even as a deep sleeper in a crapshoot division.
While the future is bright in Cleveland, unless guys like Hafner, Peralta, Grady Sizemore and Fausto Carmona have tremendous seasons, then the Indians will struggle all year. Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have made the Indians 60/1 long shots to win the 2010 World Series and 30/1 to win the AL Pennant. Theyr’e also 8/1 to win the AL Central and have been given an over/under win total of 74.5 games.
