Marcus Semien had a solo homer in the first and a grand slam in the ninth as the Blue Jays shut out the Yankees 8-0 on Monday. Semien and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went back-to-back off Jameson Taillon in the first. The slam, coming much later, was a true Yankee Stadium homer; it went 336 feet into the left field corner and was given a .020 hit probability by Statcast. It was his fifth career slam and first hit of any kind in 14 plate appearances with the bases loaded this season. Semien is up to 37 homers for the year.
Chicago Yankees DFS Notes
Joey Gallo struck out all four times up against the Blue Jays on Monday. That makes 61 strikeouts versus 16 hits in his time with the Yankees. Gallo delivered a big homer Saturday, but that's his only hit in his seven games. He's at .130/.291/.325 in 35 games for his new team. Manager Aaron Boone said after Monday's game that he'll "consider" moving Gallo down in the lineup.
