The FedEx Cup Playoffs move on to the second stage this week with the Dell Technologies Championship. Here’s a look at the odds to win the event.
The Dell Technologies Championship features the top 100 players in the current FedEx Cup standings and is the second of four playoff events. According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson is favored to win this week. He has 8/1 odds to prevail. Other short odds to win are Justin Thomas (11/1), Brooks Koepka (12/1) and Rory McIlroy (14/1). The Dell Technologies Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Boston in Norton, Massachusetts.
Johnson hasn’t won this event, but he still comes in as the top-ranked golfer in the world. DJ has three wins on the year with 10 top-10 finishes out of 17 events. Johnson was 11th in the Northern Trust, the first playoff event. He was 18th in this tournament a year ago.
Thomas is third in the world rankings and the defending FedEx Cup champion. He has two wins on the year with nine top-10 finishes in 18 events. Thomas has finished in the top 10 of his last three tournaments and he is the defending champion of this very tournament.
Koepka is second in the current world rankings thanks to his two major championships in 2018. He has finished in the top 10 in three straight events after placing eighth this past weekend. Koepka was 18th in this event last year and he is seeking his first win in a FedEx Cup playoff event.
McIlroy is a two-time winner of this tournament and a four-time winner of FedEx Cup playoff events. McIlroy didn’t play in last week’s playoff opener, but he has one win this year with eight top-10 finishes. He missed the cut in this tournament a year ago.
