Tom Kim (+3000) is our pick to win, in the outright winner market. The handicap starts with the skill Sedgefield asks for most. Kim ranks fifth on TOUR in Strokes Gained: Approach at 0.679, and that climbs to 1.215 across his last five starts. He also ranks seventh in bogey avoidance. On a par 70, avoiding the big number matters as much as making birdies.
The résumé backs the profile. Kim won here in 2022 at 20-under, and he already has a trophy this season after taking the Genesis Scottish Open in July. In contrast, Young carries the shorter price and the heavier burden. The defending champion has lost 0.528 strokes per round on the greens over his last five starts, 90th on TOUR.
The case against Kim is the same club. His putter ranks 100th on TOUR for the season, and he withdrew after an opening 73 here in 2025. If the greens do not cooperate, approach play alone will not reach 20-under. Still, at 30/1 the price pays for that risk. Young at +900 does not.

Aaron Rai (+330) — Top GB & Ireland Player is the most defensible secondary-market play on the board. Rai won this tournament in 2024 at 18-under and followed with a T5 here last year. His game is built for Ross golf. He averages 292.2 yards off the tee, ranks 20th in greens in regulation and 25th in Strokes Gained: Approach. He also won the 2026 PGA Championship.
The risk is the putter. Rai has lost 0.292 strokes per round on the greens across his last five starts, and he missed the cut at The Open and the Scottish Open in July. If that carries over, Alex Fitzpatrick is the better side. However, Rai has answered this course twice.
Davis Thompson (+4500) is our second mid-tier play, in the outright winner market. He finished T7 at the 3M Open and T8 at the Rocket Classic in his last two starts, and his Sedgefield record is steady, with a T12 in 2024 and a T11 in 2025. He ranks 21st on TOUR in Strokes Gained: Approach and 36th off the tee. The knock is obvious. Thompson ranks 123rd in putting, and a 45/1 shot needs a hot week with the flat stick.
Long Shot Picks for The 2026 Wyndham Championship
Christiaan Bezuidenhout (+7500) is a course-fit long shot in the outright market. He ranks fourth on TOUR in bogey avoidance and 19th in Strokes Gained: Putting. Sedgefield’s Ross greens reward that pairing, and his lack of distance costs him little on a par 70. He has gained 0.934 strokes per round over his last five starts. What has to break right is the ball-striking. He ranks 135th off the tee, and his course history is thin.
Blades Brown (+6500) is the second long shot, also in the outright winner market. The 19-year-old is here on a sponsor exemption and has been quietly excellent. Brown has gained 1.640 strokes per round over his last five starts, led by 0.777 in approach play. He has six top-20 finishes in his last ten starts, with a third at the Puerto Rico Open as his best. The case against is experience. This is his first Wyndham and he has yet to win on TOUR.

We handicapped this week on fit rather than reputation, which pushed us off the favorite and onto Kim at 30/1. Based on recent history here, expect the winning number near 20-under. With only two par 5s, the scoring will not come from reachable holes. It comes from short irons into the twelve par 4s. Watch the FedExCup bubble too. Koivun defends the No. 70 spot with a slim cushion, and that pressure can produce the Sunday charge our long shots need.
