THE PLAYERS Championship Picks

The 2019 PLAYERS Championship is set to get underway on Thursday morning. Hereโ€™s some golfers we like to contend for the title this weekend.

According to the latest oddsmakers, Dustin Johnson and Rory McIlroy are co-favored to win, as each has 12/1 odds to win. Other short odds to prevail are Justin Thomas (16/1), while five others are listed with 20/1 odds. THE PLAYERS Championship takes place Thursday-Sunday from TPC Sawgrass โ€“ The Players Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.

Bet on THE PLAYERS Championship

Dustin Johnson 12/1

Johnson has been off to a pretty strong start to 2019. He already has two wins this year and four top-10 finishes in six tournaments. DJ is back to being the No. 1 golfer in the world rankings and I think he has another solid outing this weekend. Johnson finished 17th in this tournament a year ago and I think he can continue to build on what he has been able to do thus far in 2019.

Justin Thomas 16/1

Thomas doesnโ€™t have a win this year, but he has been very consistent at being in the mix. Out of six tournaments, Thomas has four top-10 finishes and three top-3 finishes. He has placed 16th or better in all but one event. Thomas was able to contend in this tournament last year as well, finishing 11th. I think he is just playing very steady and is sure to get a win sometime very soon. That could even be this week.

Tommy Fleetwood 25/1

Fleetwood broke out of his mini-slump in 2019 last week with a third-place finish in the Arnold Palmer Invitational. It was his first top-10 finish of the year out of six tournaments. Fleetwood had a great 2018 season, which including a seventh-place finish in THE PLAYERS Championship. Coming off his strong showing last weekend, I think Fleetwood does more of the same at a course he knows he can play well at. I like his value at 25/1.
