NEW YORK (TheSpread) – Every year, championship weekend is highlighted by the Big East Tournament. Here is a look at the odds to win this year’s tournament.

This five-day tournament takes place from Madison Square Garden and starts on Tuesday, March 6 and runs through Saturday, March 10. This 16-team tournament is in a staggered format. The bottom eight seeds play in four games on Tuesday and the winners advance to face the 5-8 seeds respectively on Wednesday. Those Wednesday winners then advance to face the top 4 seeds and then standard tournament rules apply to Saturday’s championship.

According to oddsmakers, Syracuse is the favorite to win this tournament with 5/4 odds to win. Other short odds to win are Marquette (3/1), Georgetown (6/1), and Notre Dame (8/1).

Syracuse is the top seed in the bracket as it went 17-1 in the Big East and 30-1 overall to win the regular-season title. The Orange have won this tournament five times, with the last win coming in 2006.

Marquette is the No. 2 seed in this tournament. The Golden Eagles went 14-4 in the Big East and 25-6 overall. Marquette has never won this tournament.

Georgetown is the No. 5 seed in this tournament after going 12-6 in the Big East and 22-7 overall. The Hoyas have won this tournament seven times, which is tied for the most with Connecticut.

Notre Dame is the third seed in the tournament. The Fighting Irish are 21-10 overall and 13-5 in the Big East. Notre Dame has never won this tournament in school history.
