RENTON, Wash. (AP) – At midseason, the Seattle Seahawks were a joke.
Now they might be the team no one in the NFC wants to see slip into the playoffs.
Seattle (7-7) returned to practice Tuesday after winning for the fifth time in six games by routing Chicago 38-14 on Sunday. The victory kept alive Seattle’s slim hopes of reaching the postseason, but after a 2-6 start, just having the word “playoffs” uttered is an achievement.
Linebacker Leroy Hill says it’s been four years or so since Seattle felt this good about the way it’s playing. Seattle made the playoffs last year with a 7-9 record, but stumbled the second half of the season.
To keep their playoff hopes alive, Seattle must beat San Francisco on Saturday.
