Kobalt Tools Updated Odds
Carl Edwards hasn’t won a Cup Series race in nearly two years, but he moved one step closer to making that dream a reality again by winning the pole for Sunday’s Kobalt Tools 500. Continue reading for odds for this pivotal NASCAR race.
Edwards turned in a record-setting performance at Phoenix International Raceway on Friday. He won the pole with a lap of 136.399 mph, which also set a new track record.
AJ Allmendinger will join him in the front row, while Kurt Busch qualified for third. Greg Biffle and Jamie McMurray rounded out the top five on qualifying day.
When the odds opening odds were released earlier this week, Jimmie Johnson was the favorite and according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, he’s still the favorite at +300 on the moneyline.
But while Kyle Busch was listed right behind Johnson at +400, he’s now +600 and Edwards is the driver with the next best odds at +500. Allmendinger went from +7500 to +3000, while Biffle improved from +2000 to +1200.
David Reutimann will start sixth on Sunday and Kyle Busch will start seventh. Regan Smith and Aric Almirola will start eighth and ninth, respectively, while Joey Logano (who has been hot of late) qualified 10th. Reutimann is +6000 on the moneyline, while Almirola is +10000.
