SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) -Dale Tallon has been hired as general manager of the Florida Panthers.
The Panthers made the announcement Monday, a day ahead of the press conference at which Tallon is to be introduced. He comes to Florida from the Chicago Blackhawks, where he most recently served as a senior adviser of hockey operations.
Tallon has a tough task waiting in Florida. The Panthers haven’t appeared in a playoff game since the 1999-2000 season.
Tallon replaces Randy Sexton, who was officially hired in October 2009.
