LOS ANGELES (AP) -Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt says his estranged wife doesn’t need nearly $1 million a month in temporary support because she has assets worth more than $75 million.
In court documents filed Tuesday, McCourt wants a judge to deny a request made last month by Jamie McCourt who wants about $989,000 per month. She argued that the sum should reflect the couple’s lavish lifestyle during their marriage.
Attorneys for Frank McCourt said his wife has at least $11 million in cash and another $65 million in real estate holdings she could tap but hasn’t.
Dennis Wasser, an attorney for Jamie McCourt, declined comment.
Jamie McCourt, the Dodgers former CEO, has claimed she is a co-owner. A trial to determine ownership is set for May 24.
