Wednesday’s NHL Prediction

The Buffalo Sabres look to put an end to their slow start on Wednesday in the NHL when they take on the Atlanta Thrashers on the road.

Bet NHL Odds

Buffalo is just 1-4-1 on the season, having allowed 18 goals and scored 12. The Sabres are already six points behind Toronto in the Northeast Division standings.

Atlanta is 3-2-0 on the year with 17 goals scored and 16 allowed. The Thrashers are 1-0-0 at home this season.

Here is my pick for tonight’s contest:

Buffalo Sabres vs. Atlanta Thrashers, 7PM ET

Trends favor the home team in this one as the home team is 9-4 in the last 13 games of this series. Atlanta is also 6-1 in their last 7 against Buffalo at home.

The Thrashers are also 8-3 in their last 11 games after 3 or more days of rest while the Sabres are just 1-5 in their last six road games.

Atlanta is at home and playing better hockey right now anyway. Even if this game was on the road for the Thrashers, I would still feel better about picking them over Buffalo.
