According to oddsmakers, the Pittsburgh Penguins are the favorite to win this yearโs conference title, as they have 8/5 odds. Other short odds to win are the New York Rangers (5/2) and the Boston Bruins (4/1).
Pittsburgh is the fourth seed in the conference with 108 points. They finished one point behind the Rangers in the Atlantic Division. Pittsburgh has scored a league-high 282 goals this season. Pittsburgh has won the conference title four times in its history.
The Rangers are the top seed in the East with 109 points. The Rangers won the Atlantic as they scored just 226 goals but allowed only 187 goals. New York has won the conference title just one time in franchise history.
The Bruins are the No. 2 seed with 102 points. They won the Northeast Division with 269 goals scored and just 202 goals allowed. Boston has won the conference title three times and is the defending Stanley Cup champion.
