Stanley Cup Updated Odds
(TheSpread) – The 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs are set to begin this week and the odds have been updated for which team will take home the title.
The Vancouver Canucks are the favorite to win the Stanley Cup according to oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com. The Canucks have 3/1 odds to win it all while other short odds are Washington (5/1), Detroit (6/1), and Philadelphia (6/1).
Vancouver has the top spot in the West and its 117 points were the most in the NHL. The Canucks have scored 262 goals while allowing just 185 and they were 27-9-5 at home this season. Vancouver will face Chicago in the opening round.
Washington has the top seed in the East with 107 points. The Capitals won the Southeast Division with a 48-23-11 record. The Capitals scored 224 goals and allowed 197. They will face the New York Rangers to open the playoffs.
Detroit won the Central Division with 104 points and is the third seed in the West. The Red Wings scored 261 goals this season but allowed 241. They will face Phoenix in the first round of the playoffs.
Philadelphia finished with 106 points to win the Atlantic Division and earn the No. 2 seed in the East. The Flyers scored 259 goals and allowed 223. They will take on Buffalo in the opening round.
