Updated NHL East Odds
There were plenty of upsets in the Eastern Conference for the first round of the 2010 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs and the updated odds are out for which team will win the conference title.

All but one of the higher-seeded teams pulled off upsets during the first round, leaving the No. 4 seeded Pittsburgh Penguins as the new favorite to repeat as conference champions.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have given Pittsburgh 5/7 odds to win the Eastern Conference. Other short odds to win are Boston (7/2), Philadelphia (9/2), and Montreal (5/1).
Pittsburgh is the defending Eastern Conference champions and they disposed of Ottawa in the first round, 4-2. The Penguins had both of their losses in the series come by one goal and they scored at least four goals in four of the six games. Pittsburgh will face Montreal in the second round after the Canadiens pulled off the monumental upset of Washington in the opening round. The Canadiens won the series in seven, winning game seven 2-1 on Wednesday night. The Canadiens picked up three-straight wins to get the series after falling behind 3-1. Three of their wins in the series came in Washington.
Boston is the No. 6 seed in the East and they will host Philadelphia, the No. 7 seed. The Bruins defeated Buffalo 4-2 to reach the second round. Boston won all three games at home and picked up one win on the road. The Bruins had solid goal keeping most of the series, limiting Buffalo to two goals or less in three of the first four games. The Flyers had the easiest time in the first round, getting past New Jersey, 4-1. The Flyers allowed just one goal or less in three of the five games while scoring at least three goals in the last four contests.
