NFC West rivals clash in a pivotal matchup on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET when the Seahawks host the Rams. Only 1.5 points separates these two teams at the betting window, so what’s the best play in this divisional rivalry?

Jared Goff completed 23-of-34 passes for 209 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Rams’ 23-20, Week 15 loss to the Jets. Stupefying. Goff looked like he was playing the 2000 Ravens or 1985 Bears in the first half, overseeing one three-and-out after another while turfing passes and nearly committing catastrophic giveaways. He did “convert” one, throwing an interception to a dropping Bryce Hall against a zone defense. Goff almost committed the exact same mistake in the second half, but the throw was a little too high for the corner. Goff was better after the break, but it was too little, too late for a dazed Rams squad, one that relinquished control of the NFC West to the 10-4 Seahawks. The ‘Hawks now “control their destiny” for the division title. The 9-5 Rams would have at least clinched a postseason appearance with a victory. This makes Week 16 vs. Seattle a de facto division championship game after the Rams beat Russell Wilson’s squad in Week 10. With the Seahawks’ defense continuing to play better, Goff will not be all that appetizing of a streamer for the fantasy finals.

Russell Wilson is the 12th highest scoring quarterback in fantasy football since Week 10. Seattle has reverted to its ultra-conservative ways of the pre-Let Russ Cook era, effectively crushing Wilson’s weekly ceiling. Wilson has remained a borderline QB1 in fantasy thanks to rushing production (210 rushing yards from Week 10-15) and nine touchdown tosses in those six games. Wilson’s blistering start to the season — he had 1,502 yards and 19 touchdowns in his first five games — proved unsustainable. In Week 16 against the Rams, fantasy managers might do well to explore their options at QB.
Rams vs. Seahawks Week 16 Prediction
The Rams are just 4-9 against the spread in their last 13 meetings with the Seahawks in Seattle, while Wilson and Co. are 5-2 against the number in their last seven games as a home favorite. The Seahawks have also cashed in five of their last seven home games, are 14-6-2 against the spread in their last 22 games coming off an ATS loss and are in a revenge spot after the Rams shut them down earlier this season in L.A.
