4 Must Watch Games NFL Week 1
The NFL season is fast approaching. With that brings the smell of hot wings, nachos and beer as well as blood, sweat and tears.
There have been some interesting results in the pre-season but as we all know, this doesn’t matter! What matters is the playoff run and if you make it to the playoffs, can you show up?
Who do you have your money on for week 1? Is your team playing someone you are worried about? Do you think they can win easily? Well, that really is anyone’s guess at this point in time but let’s take a look at a few of the Week 1 can’t miss games of the NFL Season!
Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks
This is going to be a good game and there is among others, a major reason as to why. Russell Wilson is the starting QB for the Broncos and in his first game going against his old team, the Seahawks. Will the Seahawks remember his old tricks and be able to stop him? Or, will Wilson have some new plays up his sleeve to help try and take his team to the Superbowl this year?
When it comes to Seattle VS Denver, the Broncos have the upper hand at 35-21 when they play each other overall. However these two teams have only met twice in the postseason and the most notable was when the Seahawks beat the Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVII.
Buffalo Bills at LA Rams
The Defending Super Bowl Champs are set to play the reigning AFC East champs. The Game is going to be played in LA where only a few months ago, the Rams won the Superbowl! The Bills have been the AFC Champs for two years running, can they make it a 3rd? It’s a bit early to speculate but having your first game against the current Super Bowl Champions surely isn’t going to be an easy feat!
However, all hope is not lost as this matchup seems to be pretty evenly matched. According to sources like ESPN, the Bills have a 49.6% of winning while the Rams have a 49.9% of winning. There is also a 0.5% of a tie on the cards but where would the fun be in that? Hopefully, when all is said and done we will have a hard hitting game on our hands and one team will start the season of Victorious and look to make a multi-game winning streak a reality.
Buccaneers at Cowboys
This game has turned more into an eyeballs on Brady debacle rather than a Bucs vs Cowboys season opener. Brady, who announced his retirement in February abruptly changed his mind and decided he was going to come back, at least for one more season! This made Brady the biggest story in the NFL to date and now, it only gets better. He has missed training to take some personal time and there is no definitive date for him to return. While some are starting rumours that he is filming the Masked Singer, no one really knows where he is.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are listed at +900 to win the Super Bowl. These are not the odds they are hoping for seeing as they have the best QB in the league, well hopefully they still do. They also won Super Bowl LV just over 2-years ago so one would think their odds would be a bit better. However, if you see them winning it all, this could be a good opportunity.
Raiders at Chargers
The AFC West is “it” this year, and both of these clubs loaded up this offseason. With both of these teams hoping to clinch their division as early as possible, it will be interesting to see if all that off season work has really helped! While things look good on paper and we’ve seen a few things in preseason, it all comes down to how well they can continue to do once their season starts on September 11th.
Both teams have moved in the past few years and are looking to cement their place in the record books for the AFC West division. They both have something to prove and as mentioned, all the moves they made in the off season aren’t going to be wasted. Expect there to be some hard hits and plenty of yards to be covered in this matchup!
