The opening odds for this game had things as even, but the spread quickly worked toward the Lions. The over/under total opened at 45 points and dipped to 44.5 briefly before settling at 45.
The Jets are coming off a 27-19 loss to Chicago at home on Monday night. New York is playing well defensively, allowing just 268.8 yards per game, but the offense is struggling with turnovers. The Jets have the second best rush attack in the NFL, posting 157.3 yards per game, but quarterback Geno Smith has thrown four interceptions to just three touchdowns this year. Chris Ivory is leading the ground game with 189 yards and two scores while Demario Davis is leading the defense with 21 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Detroit is coming off a 19-7 win over Green Bay at home last week. Despite serious questions in its secondary, the Lions have been one of the top defenses in the NFL this season, allowing just 244.4 yards per game. The offense has posted over 350 yards per game, but struggling to consistently move the ball on the ground. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has thrown for 883 yards and three touchdowns, but also has three interceptions. Calvin Johnson has caught 19 passes for 329 yards and two scores. The defense is being led by DeAndre Levy, who has 27 tackles with one interception and five tackles for loss, but the team lost Stephen Tulloch last week for the season when he tore his ACL celebrating a sack.
In terms of Injuries, New York cornerback Dee Milliner (quad) and receiver Eric Decker (hamstring) are both questionable for this game. Detroit tackle LaAdrian Waddle (calf) and safety James Ihedigbo (knee) are both questionable as well.
