Bears vs. Falcons Odds
(The Spread) – Two playoff teams from a year ago will due battle this Sunday when the Bears host the Falcons at 1:00PM ET.
After losing in the NFC Championship Game last year the Bears concentrated their efforts this offseason on improving their offensive line. While the finished product is far from complete, they did snatch former Wisconsin tackle Gabe Carimi in the first-round of April’s draft and they hope he’ll dominate defensive linemen in the run game.
The Falcons added a new toy in the draft as well when they traded multi draft picks in order to move up and select receiver Julio Jones in the first round. The rookie will team up with Matt Ryan, Roddy White, Michael Turner and Tony Gonzalez to form one of the more complete offenses in the NFL.

Oddsmakers currently list the Falcons as 2.5-point favorites for Sunday’s game versus the Bears, while the over/under total is set at 40.5 points. Seeing as how both offenisve lines have their question marks heading into the season, it’ll be interesting to see whether or not the defenses dominate in this one. In fact, the under is 6-0 in the last six meetings between these two teams.
According to latest NFL trends, the Falcons are 4-0 against the spread in their last four road games and 5-0 ATS in their last five games as a road favorite. They’re also 10-3 against the spread in their last 13 games in Week 1 and 6-2 ATS in their last eight versus the NFC. The Bears, meanwhile, are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games overall and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in September.
