Bengals vs. Falcons Odds
The Atlanta Falcons hope to bounce back from their second loss of the 2010 NFL Season when they host the struggling Cincinnati Bengals at 1PM ET.
The Falcons are 4-2 on the season and 2-0 at home while the Bengals are 2-3 on the season and 1-2 on the road. The two teams have split the last four meetings.
Oddsmakers from online sportsbook BroburySports.com have made Atlanta a 3.5-point favorite at home against the Bengals. The over/under has been set at 42.5.
The opening odds had Atlanta favored by 4.5 points but that has since dropped down to 3.5. The over/under opened at 42.5 and was up to 43 at one point before moving back to 42.5.
The Falcons are coming off a 31-17 loss at Philadelphia last weekend that snapped a four-game winning streak. Matt Ryan struggled to 23-of-42 passing for 250 yards and two touchdowns, but as a team, the Falcons had just 65 rushing yards. The defense allowed 474 yards of offense to the Eagles as Kevin Kolb threw for 326 yards and three touchdowns. The 31 points allowed was the most the Falcons had given up all season.
The Bengals are coming off the bye and lost the last two games before that, falling to Cleveland and Tampa Bay. Carson Palmer has been hot and cold this season. He has thrown for 1,287 yards and seven touchdowns, but also has six interceptions. Cedric Benson has rushed for 406 yards and two touchdowns while Terrell Owens has 31 receptions for 476 yards. The defense has been led by Dhani Jones, who has 38 tackles.
The trends favor Atlanta in this game as the Falcons are 14-3 against the spread in their last 17 games following a straight up loss and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in fieldturf. Cincinnati is just 3-10 ATS in their last 13 games overall.
Cincinnati may get receiver Jordan Shipley back on Sunday. He is listed as questionable after suffering a concussion weeks ago. Atlanta cornerback Dunta Robinson is questionable to play after suffering a head injury form his collision with DeSean Jackson in last week’s loss.
Over 7,500 bets have been placed thus far on this game with Atlanta getting 61% of the wager at -3.5 against Cincinnati.
