JACKSONVILLE, FL (TheSpread) – The Jacksonville Jaguars are still contending for a playoff spot, but might have to do it without one of its top players when it hosts the Washington Redskins on Sunday.
The Jaguars are 8-6 on the season and 5-2 at home while the Redskins are 5-9 overall and 3-4 on the road. Trends show that the Jaguars are 6-1 against the point spread odds in their last 7 games while Washington is 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a cover.

Jacksonville is 9-5 against the point spread odds this year and the Jags have went over the point total in 10 of 14 games. Jacksonville is tied for first in the AFC South after a loss to Indianapolis last week. The Jaguars may have to play without running back Maurice Jones-Drew on Sunday as he has a knee injury that has kept him out of practice. MJD has rushed for 1,324 yards and five touchdowns to lead the team.
Washington is 6-5-3 against the point spread odds this season and the Redskins have went under the point total in 8 of 14 games. Washington has dropped four straight games and has since put Rex Grossman in at quarterback. Grossman has thrown for 366 yards and four touchdowns with two interceptions. The Redskins are averaging just 19.1 points per game while the defense is giving up 24.5 points per game.
In terms of injuries, Washington linebacker Brian Orakpo is questionable with a hamstring injury while Jacksonville receiver Mike Sims-Walker is questionable with an ankle injury.
