NFL Week 15 Injury Report

Will the Chiefs have their starting quarterback against the Rams? Will the Steelers have their best defender against the Jets? Check out our 2010 NFL Week 15 Injury Report to get the latest injury news on this weekend’s NFL games.

According to NFL Week 15 odds and oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com, the Chiefs are 1-point favorites over the Rams this Sunday. But if Matt Cassel doesn’t play, that line will certainly move. Cassel (appendectomy) is listed as questionable for Week 15 and will be a game-time decision in St. Louis. It appears as though he’ll start, but Brodie Croyle will be ready just in case.

Donovan McNabb isn’t injured but that doesn’t matter to Mike Shanahan because he’s starting Rex Grossman when the Washington Redskins travel to Dallas to take on the Cowboys. Shanahan and his son Kyle have been frustrated by the way McNabb has been running their offense and they’re ready to cut bait on the quarterback that Dan Snyder traded for in the offseason. Grossman is a disaster, which is why the line has since moved from Dallas –6 to –6.5 and could higher before kickoff.

Maurice Jones-Drew and David Garrard are both listed as questionable on the Jaguars’ Week 15 injury report for their game against the Colts, although both are expected to play. MJD has a knee injury and Garrard has been dealing with a hamstring problem.

It appears as though Matt Flynn will make his first start of the season as Packers coach Mike McCarthy hinted that the back up would play on Sunday night against the Patriots. Starter Aaron Rodgers suffered a concussion in Green Bay’s loss to the Lions last Sunday and hasn’t practiced all week. It’s doubtful he’ll even be available.

Troy Polamalu (ankle) is not expected to play against the Jets this Sunday according to published reports. Polamalu suffered the ankle injury a couple of weeks ago but has played extremely well regardless. He was named AFC defensive player of the week for the past two games and while Mark Sanchez won’t provide much of a threat to the Steelers’ defense, Pittsburgh doesn’t want to make it a habit of not having Polamalu available.

Tarvaris Jackson was placed on injured reserve with a turf toe injury and while the Vikings are hoping Brett Favre can play against the Bears on Monday night, it looks rookie Joe Webb will make his first start of his career. That’s not a good thing for Minnesota, which will have to deal with Chicago’s tough front seven.
