LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) – The player who will be forever tied to the firing of Texas Tech coach Mike Leach is nearing the end of his college career.
Adam James is a senior tight end for the Red Raiders. The university fired Leach in December 2009 amid allegations he mistreated James, who had a concussion. Leach has denied it and sued the school over his firing.
In his first interview since Leach left, James says he doesn’t care if people view him as a pariah. He says he simply wants to help the Red Raiders get to a bowl game by winning at least one of their last three games.
