Can No. 24 Notre Dame and No. 15 Georgia put on an offensive display when the two meet up this Saturday at 7:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Notre Dame is favored at home in this game, as the Fighting Irish are getting odds of -4 points against the Bulldogs. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 57.5 points. These two have no recent meetings. Saturday’s game will take place from Notre Dame Stadium in Notre Dame, Indiana. It will air live on NBC.

Georgia opened the season with a 31-10 win over Appalachian State last weekend, going just under the 45.5-point total. The win came with a price, as starting quarterback Jacob Eason suffered an ankle injury early on and is out indefinitely. Jake Fromm looked good in his place, throwing for 143 yards on 10-of-15 passing with one touchdown. Nick Chubb led the offense with 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns while Sony Michel had 87 yards and a score. Defensively, Georgia was able to hold App State to just 284 total yards, including 148 passing yards.
Notre Dame started its 2017 season with an impressive 49-16 win over Temple at home last week, easily going over the 56-point total. The Irish racked up 606 yards of offense while holding Temple to just 330 total yards. On the ground, Notre Dame had a 422-85 edge. New quarterback Brandon Wimbush threw for 184 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 106 yards and a score. Josh Adams rushed for 161 yards and two touchdowns while Dexter Williams had 124 yards on just six carries.
The total isn’t terribly high but I think it will go under in this one. Both teams have a better defense than what the opposing offenses faced last week. The Irish aren’t going to run for over 400 yards against Georgia and the Bulldogs are going to face challenges running the ball steadily on Notre Dame. Georgia comes into this game 13-3 with the under in its last 16 games against a winning team and 7-3 in its last 10 non-conference contests. Notre Dame is also 29-14 with the under in its last 43 games following a win.
